1. Have you ever had a nickname (or two)? If so, what are/were they?

“My other brother Daryl” and any derogatory name classmates could create from my last name.

2. When you were 8 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Either an Architect or Mission Payload Specialist (i.e., astronaut) on the space shuttle

My girlfriend (now wife) and I won a costume contest at Clemson as Hansel & Gretel. (The judges were all retired university staff in their 80’s.)

My first car was a stick, but 45-minute commutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic, in the hills of east Tennessee convinced me to go automatic.

6. Who is the most famous person you have ever met?

I’ve been fortunate to meet several famous and distinguished individuals, but I’ll say Jane Goodall, who was coincidentally giving a talk when I walked into a museum in Colorado, and Franco Harris, who I collided with in the Pittsburgh airport.

7. Do you have any hidden talents that people you meet would not expect?

I’m pretty good at growing orchids.

A leader in helping All4 and clients address climate change.
