John started his career at ALL4 in July 2023 as a Staff Engineer after graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. Since joining, John has been a part of various compliance, air permitting, and modeling projects for numerous hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. Outside of work, John enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and climbing, but also enjoys relaxing with his cat, Gizmo, and watching a good movie or playing some games.

Get to know John
What is the one thing that most attracted you to ALL4?
ALL4 lives and breathes the culture that they promote and they clearly invest in their employees.
Have you ever had a nickname (or two)? If so, what are/were they?
I’ve previously been called “Johnny Fitz” and “J Swizzel” before. I have no idea where the latter originated.
When you were 8 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an engineer so that I could design LEGO sets (because you obviously need an engineering degree to do that!)
What was the most memorable Halloween costume you ever wore?
Recently, my girlfriend and I dressed up as Princess Buttercup and Westley/the Dread Pirate Roberts from the Princess Bride. (I know, inconceivable!)
Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
I met the snake that was the model for the U-haul Truck Design for Manitoba (you’ve definitely seen it on the road before). If I had to choose a person, it would be Tina Fey. She was a member of the same student theater organization at UVA that I was a part of.
Do you have any hidden talents that people you meet would not expect?
I have a good sense of direction and spatial awareness. A fun fact is that I’ve never lost a game of Jenga before 😉
If you were stranded on an island, what are three things you couldn’t live without?
If I’m assuming the essentials are provided, then my phone with a solar charger for music, books, and games, a king sized bed with sheets and pillows for a good night sleep, and a fully stocked toolbox to build all sorts of inventions like The Professor from Gilligan’s Island.
