Career Highlights
After several years with Telefónica and Ernst & Young, Jesús joined Repsol in 1995, where he spent most of his career. He became a member of the IT Directors Board in 2001. Jesús served as IT Director for Repsol’s main business units (Upstream, Refining, Marketing, and Chemicals) and as Development Director, leading distributed teams in Spain, Argentina, Brazil, and Peru. In 2011 he moved to Repsol’s R&D Center as Director of Advanced Mathematics, establishing the disciplines of data analytics, optimisation, and simulation.
In 2016 he left Repsol to found several companies focused on data analytics, IoT, and artificial intelligence, and he served as CTO for The Lab (a venture builder) and Laragon.
He also taught Data Engineering and Analytics at IE University for six years, earning an Award for Teaching Excellence.
