Remembering Lorna Velardi, 7/26/1953 – 6/9/2021
The ALL4 family received the sad news that one of our own, Lorna Velardi, passed away after valiantly battling cancer. Lorna held a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1975 as part of the first class of women. She was an experienced environmental permitting and compliance professional in the Philadelphia area for over forty years. Lorna began her career in industry for Sunoco Company and a $200 million/year bulk chemical transporter before following her passion and starting her own environmental consulting company. Lorna was the founder and President of Environmental Strategy Consultants (ESC) in Philadelphia where she served clients in diversified multimedia management including air permitting, stormwater, compliance reporting, and auditing for manufacturers, hospitals, and chemical and petroleum bulk facilities. Lorna worked tirelessly for her clients and consistently refined her skills to stay current with the regulations and technologies that affected them. She was keenly aware of her strengths and weaknesses and sought to surround herself with others who would make ESC and her better.
Those of us at ALL4 will remember Lorna’s big heart and the specific passion she had for her employees. Knowing her health was creating an uncertain future for ESC, Lorna made the decision to partner with ALL4 to absorb her employees and clients in September 2020. Lorna was committed to providing her clients and employees with the best home and she approached this new chapter with enthusiasm and excitement for continuing her own professional and personal development, as well as the new opportunities it created for her staff.
Personally, Lorna was the mother to two daughters, enjoyed city life, and what she called her urban village. Outside Interests included nature walks, dancing, small music venues, and eating out.
